be a body

First blog posts can be awkward like first dates, so I just want to jump right in.

I went through a fairly big Stanley Kubrick phase with Lolita, The Shining, and 2001: A Space Odyssey, and though his films don't grip me quite as much anymore, I still really appreciate this series of photos he took in New York, for Look Magazine in the mid-to-late 1940s:

In other news, I painted my nails a shade of cheery yellow (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lightening) to combat the cold + snow outside.
